About long puzzles

Long puzzles challenge you to calculate accurate forcing sequences of four or more moves, maintaining precision throughout a longer combination. These puzzles train your ability to hold a complex line in your head and to check each branch of the variation before committing. Long puzzles develop calculation stamina and the discipline to look for the opponent's defensive resources at each step. Solving long puzzles regularly builds the deep calculation skills required to handle complex tactical positions in competitive play where finding the right continuation five or six moves ahead can be the difference between winning and losing. These are the puzzles that develop genuine chess strength.

How to train long

Puzzle length is a calculation-depth exercise. Work out the whole line before playing the first move, rather than playing a move and then looking again.
